C&EE 235 Advanced Structural Analysis

Role: Teaching Fellow

Term: Fall 2018, Fall 2019

Location: Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles

Course Description:

  • Understand essential concepts of structural analysis: equilibrium, compatibility, static determinacy and indeterminacy, 1st or 2nd order elastic analysis, etc.
  • Analyze statically loaded structures using various methods: direct stiffness method, flexibility method, principle of virtual forces, and principle of virtual displacements.
  • Impelement stiffness method using computer programming.
  • Analyze structures’ response to thermal and self-straining (pre-stressing) loads.
